Steel for food and agriculture facilities

Farm structures, storage buildings and food-facility supports call for different steel requirements. Regan Industrial Sales, Inc. can review the tubes, purlins and building materials in your project list, with the intended use and exposure kept clear.

Farm and facility applications

Cutting and shaping requirements

Prepare your farm or facility inquiry

Describe the structure and where the steel will be used. Include:

  1. Drawings, member sizes, specified grades and quantities.
  2. Any cleaning, fertilizer, outdoor or food-contact exposure requirements in the design.
  3. Required finishes, cut or bend details, project location and target date.

We’ll review the material options and processing scope with you.

Farm and facility material questions

Can a farm-building material also be used for food-contact equipment?

Treat those as separate material requirements. The grade and finish specified for a structure do not by themselves establish suitability for contact with food.

What if part of the structure is exposed to cleaning chemicals or fertilizer?

Include the exposure and the finish specified by the project designer with that material item. This gives the team the information needed to review the request without assuming one finish suits every area.

Discuss your farm and facility steel requirements

Send the drawings and material list for your project.
